Gore District Council
Information technology is complex for the Gore District Council. We have 120 staff who work over six sites, looking after the needs of 14,000 residents living in a 125,000 ha geographic area. When our print service contract expired in 2009 we went to tender.
The Ricoh price was competitive and their Invercargill base also fulfilled council’s policy to buy local wherever possible. The runner-up tender could only offer corporate-level support from Christchurch – but when we need help, we need it fast. It’s not often things go wrong, but if they do, at any of our sites, Ricoh South can usually have a technician on site the same day. It’s the best of all worlds; we get quality machines, excellent service and a competitive price!
